Information:
Non-Immigrant Visa Processing Policy
The Office of International
Services is charged by the Department of Homeland Security as
the primary source of information and sole source of
immigration-related services for foreign nationals at Saint
Louis University. In that capacity, it is the sole
responsibility of the Office of International Services to:

Process all
non- immigrant visas for students, medical residents,
faculty or staff,

Liaison on all
issues of non-immigrant visas with the INS, the Department
of State, the Department of Labor, or Sponsoring Agencies,
-
Maintain the
public records for non- immigrant visas, and
-
Comply with
Department of Homeland Security and Department of State
reporting requirements on all foreign nationals at Saint
Louis University.
Therefore, all
foreign nationals and departments at Saint Louis University are
required to process all requests for and documentation related
to non- immigrant visas through the staff of the Office of
International Services.
Should the foreign
national require the assistance of any agent(s) outside the
University for processing immigration requests un-related to
employment, the foreign national must provide the Office of
International Services with copies of any documents relating to
or affecting his/her non-immigrant status within 30 days of
processing by the agent. The Office of International Services
will provide necessary documentation for immigration-related
procedures to outside agents.
All individuals
requesting a non-immigrant visa for study, research, employment,
medical residency, or training are required to provide the
Office of International Services with the necessary documents no less than
90 days prior to the start or renewal of the requested study,
research, employment, medical residency, or training.
“Premium
processing” (expedited) of H-1 and 0-1 visas may be requested by
any applicant or hiring department. Federal regulations permit
payment by either the individual or the institution. If Premium
Processing is requested, the hiring Department or School will
determine the party responsible for payment of the processing
fee.
The Office of International Services does not assist with applications for
permanent residency.
